Term Starts January 30

Art Projects for the New Year.

The children will be taking a look at where we live.

The children can use their imaginations as they render creative works that depict the Redlands seascapes, as well as its unique vegetation, coastal birds and fish.
We will draw on images by local artists for inspiration. Materials will vary from drawing to painting and even modeling.

The teenagers will be adopting the oil painting techniques of historical painters.
This will be an exciting journey in techniques. We will analyze the methods of past artists. The students may choose their own image and with assistance will produce a masterpiece in oils.

Term 2 (10 weeks)
Drawing and Painting
week 1: drawing excercises and introduction to drawing materials.
week 2: drawing on textured paper
week 3: drawing on black card with white and black pastel.
weeks 4,5&6: still life. Students will be shown how to set up a still life for drawing, then using pastel draw their subject as a study for painting.
Final weeks: Painting our Still life study.

There is sufficient time for students to explore and develop ideas and finish their work.

A variety of projects means there are opportunities for students to express their ideas through a wide range of styles of representation.

Students feel secure and are able to express their ideas freely.
